TITLE: Café Manager 

STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Store Manager

DIRECTS: Barista’s and Wait Staff

PAY RANGE: $14-$15 per hour 


Oversee the daily operations of the café, supervise staff, order supplies, resolve customer complaints, and ensure that food, health, and safety regulations are adhered to. This is a full-time position and includes paid time off, benefits, and 401K.

Position Responsibilities

Monitor and manage store staff by regularly providing feedback and setting challenging goals to improve operational performance. Optimize every sales opportunity by ensuring the café team consistently executes the café merchandising strategy, café operations, and other company initiatives. Motivate and train café team to ensure superior levels of safety, cleanliness, and quality. Execute the scheduling of café servers to ensure that all team members are working effectively to provide excellent customer service and achieve productivity goals.

Assist with recruiting and developing employee talent through training, coaching, and assignments. Mentor café servers and ensure that they strive to make sales goals, while enthusiastically modeling our selling behaviors. Ensure that product quality and third-party standards are executed and maintained. Manage inventory levels, receiving, purchasing, waste control, and equipment maintenance. Create a culture of proactive customer engagement to exceed customer expectations. 

Supports implementation of cost, quality, and service improvement initiatives. Controls shrink, expenses, payroll, and ensures that the café team does the same. Provides consistent communication and demonstrates expected behaviors to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Openly communicates with the store manager to evaluate employee performance and

address any issues. Assists with investigating and effectively resolving customer or employee issues. Assesses facility conditions and takes immediate action to correct and ensure the best customer experience. Must have open availability on early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to align with store needs. 

Educational and Experience Requirements

Associate’s Degree preferred or specialized training in a food and beverage environment. Willing to consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver’s license and background check required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Must possess basic point of sale skills

Excellent public relations skills

Ability to perform well under pressure 

Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

Ability to create effective working relationships with employees and the public

Site Supervisor


Provide to consumers in the Enclave/Mobile Crew worksites, comprehensive and individualized job coaching, supervisor and advocacy services, in accordance with vocational goals.

Further Duties include:

· Assist the consumers in job performance and integration at the job site.

· Assist the employer in making job modifications as necessary and appropriate.

· Maintain an environment at the worksite which encourages and facilitates maximum vocational growth for each individual.

· Assure quality services related to contract expectation for the worksite.

· Implementation/completion of paperwork required by funding entities.

· Participate in team meetings regarding consumer Individual Service Plans.
Attend Quarterly Staff Meetings and required trainings

· Adhere to the policies on confidentiality of Capabilities, Inc.

· Any additional work-related duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a related field, working with individuals with disabilities.Capabilities is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Employment Specialist

The purpose of this position is to provide support and vocational training for individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate is preferred to have prior experience with individuals with mental health disabilities, and also have knowledge government benefit programs.  The position requires an outgoing assertiveness and strong verbal and written communication skills.  Flexibility is necessary, as well as attention to detail and accurate and timely documentation.  Employment Specialists implement services and supports to address the person’s vocational goals and desired outcomes as identified by creating an individual plan of employment, and providing ongoing assessment and evaluation. 

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or related field is preferred; relevant experience is also accepted.  A valid driver’s license and travel within the local area are required.  Work sites and hours vary for this full-time, 37.5 hours per week position.
